Stalker!

LOCATION: Movie Theater. , Oklahoma City

TAGS: stalker, movie theater, mtv, delilah

PUBLISHED: July 2, 2008

This song used to play before the movies at the movie theater where my friend worked.

After listening to it so many times, he came to the conclusion, that the person singing the song was in fact a stalker and had never actually had a relationship with the famous Delilah.

After we watched I LOVE THE NEW MELLINIUM on MTV we found that he in fact only met Delilah once, and then proceeded to write the song for her.

We laughed for hours.

I'll add some tidbits: yes, I know the song is called "Every Breath You Take" and I think it's supposed to be about someone's divorce. I heard that on VH1 I swear! Here's somebody else who says that too :-) http://www.flyernews.com/artic... (7/2/2008)

Let me offer some historical perspective on this. I remember waiting for Synchronicity to be released in the...ahem, "record" stores. Me and my buds were pretty big Police fans. It was the Spring of 1983 and that album marked the beginning of our last summer together. Turns out Sting was indeed going through a painful divorce. I remember hearing a radio interview with him where he explained "Every Breath You Take" was a song for his wife who was giving him the boot. So I can confirm your claim. What's interesting is I thought...man, what a pussy whipped dude whining so much about a girl. Of course, I should have known better..a few years later I'd be moaning kind similar. (7/2/2008)

Thanks for the concrete facts about that; I'll have to remember them when I go making unsubstantiated claims again :-) Did you see the Police when they reunited? (7/6/2008)
