Young and RestlessLOCATION: School , PhilippinesYEAR: 1990TAGS: high school life, i don't know muchPUBLISHED: April 23, 2008Well as the title says I was once young and very much restless. I was in high school and everything seemed so simple then. I just transferred from a new school, against my will. You get that feeling when you feel that you already established a lot and changes are not welcome. I had to leave my friends behind and it hurt, because it feels like I've known them forever. First day of school and I don't know a single soul, it was a small town school and I basically came from a school from the metropolis. Everybody knows everybody and I was not among that everybody, I was, shall I say - nobody. A little while later I made friends. From day one, my parents told me that I was making friends with the wrong "kind". So I said, "You forced me to transfer here, and now you tell me that I can't choose my friends." So that started a domino effect on my life, I started missing school, my grades are failing, and teachers are talking. I guess I was trying to get back at them for the new life they forced onto me. It was a little while later that my eldest sister told me that the reason for the transfer was because we had no more money. I was shocked, and then after the shock I felt guilt. Guilt for the things I have done. It is a surprise, even for me to remember those days with the song I Don't Know Much by Linda Ronstadt. I guess you can never really choose how you remember a memory. "Look at this face I know the years are showing.
