Too Late a Wedding Song... But Worth It!

It’s been two years since my husband and I got married, and it was the most wonderful two years of my life. It was hard, but who said that getting married is easy. It was especially hard because I sense a little friction between his family and me. Maybe they thought that I was too young for their son. But like they all say, life would be a bore if everybody likes you. Come to think of it, the silly things they say and do actually helped make our relationship stronger. It’s a good thing that this memory is not actually about them. Beside I really didn’t care, we were in love and that is all that matters to me.

 

This memory is in fact about our wedding song. It was actually funny because when we were preparing for our wedding I was asked what our wedding song would be, but I could not decide. Even on the day of our wedding I still haven’t decided on the song. Sure enough it was forgotten, I got the video but there was no background music – imagine that! But I was happy with my life that it did not seem important then.

 

It was actually by chance that I finally found the song that I was looking for. It was a rainy day when my husband and I went to the mall to shop and just hang out together. We were browsing at this music store when the song Grow Old with You was played. I just stopped what I was doing and was desperately trying to hear it amidst the crowd. My husband was already outside the store when he noticed that I was no longer with him. He found me standing where I was in a trance like state. He was so worried because he thought that I was feeling sick. He asked me what was wrong, and got more worried when I suddenly smiled. I just simply whispered, “That is our song, our wedding song.” He just smiled and said, “I thought so too.”

 

After a few days we had our wedding video edited to include that song. Now, thanks to technology, when we call each other on our mobile phone – it’s our personal ring tone for each other.
