CrushesLOCATION: School , PhilippinesYEAR: 1991TAGS: crush, boys, high schoolPUBLISHED: April 27, 2008Another one for the book of crushes, this song vividly reminds me of a boy that I used to have an extreme crush on. This song is not particularly a favorite, and I just like it simply because he used to sing it so often. It is his favorite song, and he is my favorite crush... hahaha. He is a classmate, actually looking back now he was kind of a bum. He was popular though, but what can you expect from a pretty face with a very comical side. Most of the girls I knew had a crush on him, actually more than half of the school population. So I kept my "extreme crush" on him to myself. Every time he would be anywhere near my radar, I would just simply die of anticipation for him to talk to me. Actually we were kind of close, not best friend close, but more of a buddy-buddy. I maintained that relationship, because nobody knows that I had a crush on him, not even my closest friends. I never really dreamed of us being in a romantic kind of situation. I just simply had a crush on him, and that was enough for me. Then five years after high school, I saw him and he looked so different from what he used to be. Gone are the pretty face, the comical nature, and everything that I used to know about him. He did not see me, and I did not approach him. A few months after that as I was visiting a friend, I asked subtly about him. My friend told me that right after high school, he started using drugs and it got worse, especially when I left. And then I remembered the song, he knew! He never told me, but I guess he tried to sing it to me. I just never listened hard enough... "Now I've tried to talk to you and make you understand All you have to do is close your eyes And just reach out your hands and touch me Hold me close don't ever let me go More than words is all I ever needed you to show Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me Cos I'd already know..."
