Bye Ma'amLOCATION: My Teacher's House , PhilippinesYEAR: 1995TAGS: friendship, teacher, high schoolPUBLISHED: April 30, 2008This particular memory is about a high school teacher who is so kind to us. She doesn't seem to see the wrong things that we do. She always encourages us to do better. She even tolerates our vices, she would say, "Drink and be merry or smoke till your lungs burn, but do it here where I can see you", weird right? But in school she was a terror, and we respect her so much for that. She doesn't give us any special treatment just because we are close to her.
That's why it is so sad that we parted in a very painful way. You see, her daughter is a friend of mine (if you have time you might want to read My Childhood Friend). She blamed me for the things that her daughter did, telling me that I influenced her. She was wrong, I tried to explain, but she would not listen.
The last time that we saw each other, she was so mad at me. She was asking me where her daughter is, the problem was I do not know. Then I cried because I do not know what to tell her to make her believe. After what seemed like eternity, she asked me to leave and never come back. When I heard this song, I remembered her and all the things that she taught us. She taught us a lot about life, about ourselves, and about others. How I wish that things would have been different.
