Mom's SongLOCATION: house , PennsylvaniaYEAR: 2003TAGS: mom, family, song, present, CD, graduationPUBLISHED: March 6, 2008Ever since I was little, my mom would play songs for me, my brother and my sister that she liked. She always loved Rod Stewart and would try to go to all of his concerts with my dad when Rod came into town. When the song came out called “Forever Young,†Mom fell in love with it. She always said it was like he wrote that song with her in mind because that is how she felt about us kids. From that moment on, she would sing the song every time it came on the radio and say it was our song. Whenever I graduated from high school, Mom made me a great present. She created a mixed CD with all of the songs that reminded her of us. On it was “Forever Young.†She told me that wherever I go, I can always listen to that song and remember her and all of the fun times our family had together. It made me sad to think about it, but I was happy to have such a good mom who would do anything for me. When my brother and sister graduated from high school too, Mom also gave them the same gift. We know it’s not much, but we still appreciate the thought. Nowadays I listen to that CD a lot whenever I want to think about her. I have listened to that song so much that I almost need to ask my mom to make me a new copy of the CD!
