I've Got A Crush On You -Part Deux

LOCATION: Paula Deen's Store , Savannah, GA

YEAR: 2008

TAGS: crush, journey, savannah, vacation

PUBLISHED: June 18, 2008

I was in Savannah, Georgia with my niece last week and on Wednesday, June 11, we were walking around in the heat of the day (mid 90's every day!) and I said, "Hey I want to go to the Paula Deen Store to pick up the boy's new cookbook." "The Boys" are her sons Jamie and Bobby. I think I mentioned before that I have a GIGANTIC crush on Bobby. I think he's absolutely adorable and funny and, well..he just IS. So, we head down West Congress Street past "The Lady & Sons" restaurant and walk into the store.

Oh...My...GOD! Bobby Deen was IN THE STORE!

I turned to my niece and was nearly dying! I asked if I looked okay and she laughed and said I looked fine. (Wanted to be sure nothing was hanging off my nose or anything!). I pulled my camera out of my purse and handed it to her as I got in line to have a picture taken with the boys. Bobby put his arm around me and asked how I was. Okay, I became an idiot and could barely speak! Caitlin took our picture and I thanked them and went to pay for my purchase. My hands were shaking so much I could barely sign my credit card slip. The girl at the counter laughed and touched my hand and said, "You are just so cute!' and I replied, "Honey, I am too old to be cute!". Seriously, I shook for an hour!

As soon as we left the store, I had to call my sister. I screamed into the phone, "I just met Bobby Deen!" and she screamed back "No freaking way!". I had to go sit down and call my friends. My friend Nancy told me it was something I could mark off my life list and she's right.

But you want to hear something spooky? The day before as we were walking by one of the many fountains in the historic district, I handed Caitlin a penny and we both made a wish. And you know what my wish was? Yep..to meet Bobby Deen!

Man, I LOVE Savannah!
