I'm Just Not Getting It

Okay, there are just some things out there that don't make sense to me. I'm not talking about gas prices or foreign policy; I'm talking about really important stuff such as the following items:

*Customer Service: Or shall I say lack thereof. Whatever happened to people saying "hello" and "thank you"? I try to be courteous when clients/customers call even when they're abusive over the phone (and believe me,people can get NASTY). And I try to be courteous to store clerks, restaurant workers, etc. A couple years ago, I got a credit card bill in the mail the day it was due so I contacted the company and got this snotty girl who told me that bills were only sent as a courtesy. Huh? She said it was the post offices fault and I should contact them. Huh? I hung up and thought, "No way" so I called back and asked for a manager. I told him I wanted to cancel my account and he tripped over himself trying to get me to stay. I told him I'd been with them for 15 years and had always paid my bill on time and I didn't appreciate being treated the way I was. I did not get angry until he wouldn't stop trying to keep me. I finally said "Before I get really angry, you need to cancel my account" and that was that.

*Tech Support:This almost goes hand in hand with customer service. The company I work for has it's own tech support department. When I started here 9 years ago and had network problems, I called them and the first thing they would always ask, without fail, "Is your computer plugged in?". I am not a moron. Then they'd always use the reason of "Well, you're WAAAAAY over in Wisconsin so, you know it might take a while from Minnesota." Dude, I can see Minnesota from my window. And, 9 years later, it's not much better. And when I had a computer problem and had to call Dell? Oh, please. I talked to a Japanese woman in Panama and they royally screwed up my compter so I had to hire someone to fix what they screwed up.

*Muffin Tops:Do you know what these are? Nope, not baked goods. It's when a girl wears a cropped shirt and her roll of belly fat hangs over her waistband for all to see. PEOPLE! THIS IS NOT ATTRACTIVE! Also, to go along with this one, women who go braless and shouldn't. It's just...ICKY!

*Strange Neighbors:I have the weirdest freaking neighbors you'll ever meet. The first summer they lived there, I looked out my window and saw the Mom laying in the dirt of her garden taking a nap. Seriously. Could I even make something like this up? He likes to walk around the backyard, by himself, strumming his guitar and singing to himself. My friend Dave (yes, the infamous DAVE), nicknamed him Guitarzan.

*Rude Clients/Customers:Oh and we have more than a few. And you know what? They like to scream at me the most cuz I'm a girl. I've learned to just say nothing, lower the mouthpiece of the phone below my chin and mouth "F--- You" over and over again. I know, I know; it's not ladylike but DAMN, it feels good! I always wonder after they've chewed my butt if they feel better about themselves. I tell you what, I have absolutelyNO respect for someone who pulls crap like that. I've seen people do it to clerks in stores and to restaurant staff and you know who ends up looking like the biggest butthead? Yep, the screaming idiot.

*Pants Hanging: Okay, how appealing is it to see a young man with their pants hanging halfway or threequarters of the way down their rear?And how about the guys who BELT their pants halfway down? Fellas, I really don't want to see your drawers!

So, I guess I've ranted enough. What things make you go "Hmm???"
