When A Door Opens

In 7th grade, my music teacher was the coolest. I've written about her in a previous post called "Speak to Me". What prompted this memory was someone else's memory - Sandeep's - called "Blue Calyx". His post is about an album that changed the way he thought about music - an album that opened the door.

Thanks to my teacher in that little school in that little town in way upstate New York, I had one of those memorable moments. It happened when she played Rick Wakeman's album called "Journey to the Centre of the Earth". It blew me away. For me, it opened the door to classical music which led to my love of Ballet, and eventually to my study of the art.

Yeah, that door opened wide.
