Tingling CompanionsLOCATION: The Pleasure Dome , Chicago, IllinoisYEAR: 1997TAGS: Women, Love, Life, Chicago, Pleasure Dome, MarriagePUBLISHED: January 26, 2008My wife and I love Solsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel. It was probably the first "our song" when we were dating. I remember sitting in my apartment called the Pleasure Dome (see "Redemption Dome" memory) when it came on and she turned to me and said "I love this song, the lyrics and power of Peter's voice make me tingle". I had always liked Solsbury Hill, but right then it took on a deeper meaning: I stopped and truly heard it for the first time...and it made me tingle too. Since that moment, Solsbury Hill has been a companion to my wife and me staying with us through dating, marriage and children. It's not so much a song that stamps a period of time, rather, it travels through time with us. Whenever we hear it, we stop what we're doing, listen and reflect on the past, present and future. Songs can travel alongside you through life serving as rest stops and scenic views - not so much a destination. No matter where we go, Solsbury Hill is always there. Thanks Peter.
