When people stand for something new, it scares people who cling to something old. What's dangerous is that that kind of fear very often reveals itself as murder. It's a fear that seeks to kill the ideals, spirit and freedom embodied in the individuals who fight for change. This post isn't a judgment on Benazir's political career - the arrests, convictions, overturned convictions, exiles and returns. No, it's a statement that she led a fight to change Pakistan in ways that her followers thought were better. Dear Benazir: Do not rest in peace, rather keep fighting for what you believe it should be.
