Losing a Loved oneLOCATION: In car , Waverly OhioYEAR: 1999TAGS: angel, death, heavenPUBLISHED: March 4, 2008I will never forget the day that I heard Angel by Sarah McLachlan. We had just heard that my brother in law had been in a car wreck on his way to our house and he had been killed. We left our home and headed to let some of the family know the news. I was driving and my husband and I were quiet, in our own thoughts. The only noise was from the engine and the radio. I heard Angel come on and the words caught my attention right away. I was crying listening to the song, and the words that really fit the situation were You are pulled from the wreckage We went to my mother in laws later that day and I let them know I just heard a song that I felt should be played at the funeral. I did not know who it was by at the time. I kept telling the words of the song to family members and finally one of my sisters- in -laws knew the song. We purchased the tape and the song was played at his funeral. There was not a dry eye anywhere. Two months later my Dad died and once again that song hit me hard. Angel was so popular then that it was played many times on the radio. To this day when I hear this song it reminds me of those I love that I have lost. I can now listen to it without crying my eyes out, however it still makes me a little sad for those that are no longer with us. Â
