My Favorite Song

LOCATION: Grandma's Car , Laramie, WY

YEAR: 1997

TAGS: country, singing, family

PUBLISHED: April 30, 2008

We were driving on our way to the Rocket Miner in grandma's car. I was 12 and really excited to be going to work at the newspaper for the night to make a little bit of extra cash for the upcoming Christmas season. It was about 10:00 PM, and we were in for a long night. Right after we got in the car, the song "You're Still the One" by Shania Twain came on the radio, and my aunt started to change the station. I told them both that this was my favorite (and it really was and still is) song, and they shouldn't change it. I proceeded to sing every single word of the song, and my grandma remarked that wow this did have to be my favorite song. She also told me I had a very pretty voice, which as a 12 year old, I didn't know yet. That night cemented this as my favorite song then and even up until now in 2008.
