My dad had a great habit of bringing kids with him on fun business trips. We took turns growing up going on different trips with him. I definitely got some of the best trips because I'm the favorite. This one was my favorite. My mom couldn't leave the kids so I got to go to Daytona with him for the Nextel Nascar kickoff. I flew in on Friday night and spent the day meeting stars and being pampered as my dad's guest. You see he was the vice president of Nextel and got the star treatment. That night we went to a small party- small meaning thousands of VIP guests. We weren't real close to the stage but as soon as she came in and the music started, I could tell it was LeAnn Rimes. I knew LeAnn's music, and the concert was incredible. It's one of the only concerts I've been to and was a concert for a small group of us. I was in the Nextel suite the next day falling asleep through Daytona 500 when my dad tapped me real hard and said, "Wake up. It's LeAnn Rimes." Indeed it was, LeAnn Rimes was coming around the table to meet people. She was with her husband and dressed in normal casual clothes. I even got my picture with her. To think, I almost missed meeting her because I was sleeping. The concert itself was good but seeing her in person was even better.
