Last Girl's Night Out

LOCATION: Pavilion behind May Hall , Provo, UT

YEAR: 2004

TAGS: dancing, freshman year

PUBLISHED: April 27, 2008

Right before the end of the second semester of my freshman year of college, we had one final dorm activity just for the girls. It was kind of like one final hurrah before finals started, and we all went our separate ways. Out behind the guys dorm was a large pavilion next to the swimming pool. It also had a couple of fire pits and bbq stands like you would find at a park picnic area. So we decided to have a big bbq and roast smores and stuff. Everyone showed up, and we did all of the normal things like eating good food, talking, and taking final pictures of our friends. Then someone, I don't even remember who, brought out a CD player, and we started to dance. Dancing with guys is fun, but dancing with just the girls is a completely different story. There is just not anything like dancing when only girls are involved, and we started to shake that pavilion from the cement ground to the metal ceiling. We were having the time of our lives before our lives were divided in a couple of weeks. I remember the first song that got played on the CD player was "Toxic" by Britney Spears. Pretty much the perfect girl's only dancing song. We all broke down flailing our bodies all over and moving to the beat. Britney may not be my favorite singer ever, but she sure does pick some good dance beats for her songs. We danced for probably an hour then finally said our last goodbyes.
