Driving to the BeachLOCATION: Matty's Car , CaliforniaYEAR: 2005TAGS: Sophomore year, California, MattyPUBLISHED: April 16, 2008I was so excited. We were finally going on our roadtrip to California. Two cars were going; my family in one car, and Matty and me in the other. We were driving along and having a good time talking, but then there was that weird awkward silence- the kind that makes you realize you've been driving for way too long together. I turned on the radio, but we couldn't get any good stations so I asked Matty if he had any music. He pointed to the glovebox, and I opened it up to find three (and only three) CDs. He had ABBA, some church CD, and the Beach Boys. Since we were going to the beach in California, I naturally grabbed the Beach Boys CD. We listened to that CD probably four times during that roadtrip and now everytime I hear anything by the Beach Boys, especially Surfin' USA, I think of driving to the beach with Matty.
