PETETHEMEAT | MEMORY FROM 2002 Workin' at the Gas StationLOCATION: Petro 3000 , CaledonYEAR: 2002TAGS: hip-hop, ill bill, Non Phixion, the future is nowPUBLISHED: April 14, 2008For a number of years towards the end of high school and the beginning of college I worked at a self-serve gas station near my house. It was alright. It was close to home, I didn't do much and they had a television inside. It was pretty large as well, not like the size of one with a whole convenience store in there, but a decent size I could also do my homework when it was slow and talk on the phone a lot. There was a CD player behind the counter as well, which I took full advantage of. I remember listening to CD's such as this one over and over again when I was working in that kiosk. I would work there on average three shifts a week - sometimes during the evening, but sometimes in the morning. This would be a great album to listen to first thing in the morning - especially during the winter when it's cold and snowy outside and you're all nice and warm inside. That was the great thing about working there was you didn't really ever have to go outside unless someone was having trouble pumping their gas. There are a certain bunch of albums that really bring me back to working there, but this one in particular got a lot of kiosk play. It still reminds me of sitting behind the counter on those winter morning looking at the snow falling and cars driving by.
