This CD and this song marked one of the most significant, powerful times in my life.  Everyone that heard it freaked and had to have it/learn the lyrics/sing it/live it that summer.

We had a state park near where we lived, and I remember driving around my boyfriend at the time, and another friend of ours, while they were wasted, as they sang "Wasted Time" in stereo.  Too bad neither one of them could sing a note/were completely tone deaf.  But just remembering that night, and all the other nights of being young, getting drunk, singing tunes by Skid Row and being free warm my heart to this day.

As for writing, there were few bands at the time, if any, that penned lyrics as well as Skid Row.  Granted, Sebastian had little to no involvement, but Bolan and Sabo, etc, wrote some of the greatest, deepest lyrics on this CD that I've ever heard.  The only other band that has come close in my opinion is Metallica.  We listened to the 'Black Album' a lot that year too, but there was no 'rock neck' like Skid Row/Mudkicker rock neck.

Wasted Time?  Never.  Always a great time with Skid Row before Bas and company parted ways.  Sorry Johnny Solinger.  It just ain't the same.  I'll always remember 'Slave to the Grind'.  Couldn't forget it if I wanted.
