I saw Colbie when she opened for Lifehouse, (who opened for the Goo Goo Dolls), last summer. Granted, I had no idea who she was, but I was impressed. She has a beautiful voice and her onstage presence and vocals are terrific.

But then came the radio airplay with "Bubbly". If the stations hadn't flooded us with it, I still might enjoy listening to her. But now, I just can't. They completely overexposed her with this song and I fear that it might be her downfall. (Anyone recall 'Iris' by the Goos? One of my favorite bands and I still hate hearing that song because it was on way too much, for way too long.)

Anyway, yes, she's got those Jennifer Aniston looks and a sweet voice, but I hope her manager and the record company gives her a break and back off a bit. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way, since everytime it comes on the radio, even other people change the station now. I also hope for her sake, they space her singles out and give her a chance. We need a little less Colbie from when she hit the ground running. Fame is great, her songs are nice, but too much is overkill.

When I get through enjoying the overall song, I trail off into dissecting the lyrics, then follow the drum track or bass line, then I will try to count how many guitars there are, drool over the image, singalong...
