Got a High-Five on This OneLOCATION: Darien Lake , Darien Center, NYYEAR: 2007TAGS: Goo Goo Dolls, Darien LakePUBLISHED: February 15, 2008As most people know, the Goos consist of 3 members, 2 of whom are original (John and Robby), Mike was a replacement for their old drummer, George. Anyway, John and Robby both sing and write for the group. John has that sweeter voice, sweeter face, can write love songs and ballads, etc., while Robby is like a little ball of sunfire that you're just waiting to explode at any minute. If you see them in concert, you'll know what I mean. He bounds around the stage like he just never tires, sometimes clad in barefeet. It's a great thing to see. They also bring in an extra guitarist, keyboardist, etc, for the tours. So, John keeps writing the ballads (and at the time of this release, also did the 'Disconnected' thing, apparently trying to keep earning the right to wear that CBGB's shirt...) while Robby stayed a little closer to his punk roots and went with 'Slave Girl'. In my opinion, this is the best song on the CD, even better than 'Name'. Robby and his Alice-Cooper-ish voice are perfect for this song and he performs it so well. Live, he does it so close to the CD, it's amazing. My niece and I gave each other the high-five when we heard that first riff at this last concert. Sweet, they're playing 'Slave Girl'!  Waited half the night and a couple Goo concerts, but finally got to hear it live. Well worth it and next time they're back 'home', listen for it again. 'Let me tell ya 'bout a girl I know...'
