Dave Just Gets BetterLOCATION: My Car , Eldred, PAYEAR: 2005TAGS: Foo Fighters, Dave GrohlPUBLISHED: April 3, 2008"My head is giving me life or death, but I can't choose." Yet more deep thoughts from the mind of Dave Grohl. I'm so glad he's so far moved on from Nirvana and let his mind start actually working by being with the Foos. Anyway, this song is a few years old, came out on the "In Your Honor" CD, along with "All My Life". But I digress... this song said to me what I wanted to say to someone else and didn't know how. I love it when anyone can take what they feel and put it into words that explain exactly how YOU ache. You get this connection with them that speaks volumes about humankind in general. Hurt, betrayal, frustration, love. You name it. I admire how Dave writes and how honest and raw he can be with his emotions. "I needed somewhere to hang my head, without your noose" is just pure genius to me. Call me crazy. But it was just what I was feeling and wanted to grab Dave and say "Thank you for writing this song. I needed it and someone else needed to hear it. Kiss kiss, love love". I still have it on my MP3 player and listen to it at least once a week. It reminds me of a time when I was under that noose and am free from it now. Thank you Dave, for saying what I couldn't. The true mark of a great song.

kwalz said: One of my fav lyrics is from "Hey Johnny Park"--"Your eyes still remind me of, angels that hover above, eyes that can change from blind to blue." It's what the words add up to that gets me, more than the literal meaning.
Another one I love is "Stacked Actors". It used to be a favorite to be pissed off and vengeful and sexy too.
Totally get your meaning, and I think you explain it really well! (5/10/2008)
