Another 'Emo' Worth a ListenLOCATION: Dad's , BolivarYEAR: 2008TAGS: thunder, rain, boys like girls, lovePUBLISHED: June 20, 2008I admit, I'm not a big fan of Emo, but I've grown to like Faber Drive, and now Boys Like Girls seems to have me hooked. (Too old to admit I enjoy it as much as I do, I suppose.) They released 'Hero/Heroine' earlier, and I liked it, but 'Thunder' really grabbed my attention. It's definitely not an 'emo'/teenage angst song. It's well-written, speaks from the heart, and once again, the frontman has a voice. Most importantly, I repeat, the frontman (Martin Johnson) has a voice. Short clip of the lyrics: "Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer The video premiered on MTV this evening and was terrific. It totally took me back to being a teenager again, having fun, being with the guy I loved, hanging out, being out in the rain. And still, with a brand new song, from a new group, it takes me back to being young and letting someone be my 'Thunder'. And he still is. His voice was, and is still, the soundtrack of my summer.
