MusicIsMyWeapon | MEMORY FROM 2008

This one goes out to Jamie Lynn

LOCATION: My office , Jax Beach

YEAR: 2008

TAGS: Britney Spears

PUBLISHED: March 27, 2008

It's an early spring morning here in Florida.

Doing my job, and checking out what is buzzing on the net.

Pregnant Man
American Idol
Jamie Lynn Spears

Poor Jamie Lynn.

I am sorry, but what did she do to deserve all of this attention? You see these pictures of her in a small town with her boyfriend. They do normal stuff, they have normal wants and needs and fears and insecurities.

And now, because of her sister, who really is nothing more than the product of an outdated music industry, people follow her every move.

A picture of her doing something, anything somehow gives us this feeling of satisfaction.

"Look", we say, "She got pregnant", as if by being Britney's little sister somehow made her immune to the science of creation.

The early masters are probably rolling over in their graves. Music was created as a way for Man to express themselves. It allows us to vent, to rejoice, to think and to just let loose. It has nothing to do with big mansions and wild parties.

It definitely has nothing to do with a scared little 20 year old in Oklahoma or Arkansas or West Virginia, or wherever Jamie Lynn is hoping to raise her first child.

So, do her a favor. Don't read this. Don't pass it to anyone. Just move on.

Look for the rock and the roll in music. Let's find that again.
