In the late '90s/early '00s, if you needed to phone a utility company for whatever reason, chances are that you whilst you were on hold, you had the dubious pleasure of being forced to listen to this song.

This is one of those tunes that becomes tremendously irritating remarkably quickly. The singer's voice, I find particularly grating. But maybe that's why organisations used it as their "hold melody" - the music pissed you off so much that by the time you were finally connected, you were so relieved to be talking to someone and not having to listen to the bloody Lighthouse Family for the umpteenth time, that you ended up agreeing with everything they said. This probably meant missing out on the best deal, but you'd do anything to give your ears a rest:

"I'm afraid you'll have to speak to another department about that."

"Will you have to put me hold on again?"

"Probably."

"Forget it then."
