I'd been a fan of the Canadian group Glass Tiger since 1986.  However, after their second LP they kind of fell off the radar for many American fans.

In 2003 I decided to search for them on the Internet and see what they'd been up to for the past 17 years.  Other than the name of the band, the only actual member's name I could recall was the lead singer Alan Frew.  After finding Glass Tiger's web site and seeing that there wasn't too much going on there, I discovered Alan's web site.  There was a lot more happening there, including a message board and an opportunity to meet him at something they were calling "Frewvention".

"Frewvention" was basically a fan convention for Glass Tiger and Alan Frew fans.  Mainly Alan Frew fans, since the rest of Glass Tiger would not be there.

Although I never met Alan, I knew I wanted him to autograph something for me.  Something special.  I remembered back to my teen years when I used to play piano.  I had obtained the sheet music to Glass Tiger's hit "Someday" and used to play it all the time.  It was one of my favorite Glass Tiger songs.  However, over the years somehow it had gotten misplaced.  I had searched through all the sheet music I still had but could not find it.

One day about a month before "Frewvention" I was searching E-bay just to see what kind of Glass Tiger stuff was out there for sale.  Then I saw it.  Someone in North Carolina was selling the very same sheet music for "Someday"!  I couldn't believe it!

Being the only bidder for the music, of course I won it.  Now I just had to get Alan to sign it.

I brought it with me to the meet-and-greet we had with Alan at the Celtic Club pub in St. Catherines, Ontario Canada.  He stared at it for a moment and laughed.

"Where did you find this?"  Alan inquired.

"I found it on E-bay."

He turned to his staff and held up the sheet music.  "She found it on E-bay."

He went on to sign it:  To Michy, drew a little heart and then signed his name--Alan Frew.

That was probably the best two dollars I've ever spent on E-bay!
