My first concert

There were three main things I loved when I was 13 years old:  staying up late, missing school and Corey Hart.  So when I heard he was opening for Rick Springfield at the Centrum, I knew I had to go.  It was a matter of life or death.  It would also be my first concert.

My mother forked out the $25.00 for two tickets and a few months later my sister and I were dropped off in front of the Centrum to experience our rock heartthrobs.  She was there to see Rick Springfield.  My main point of being there was to see Corey Hart and hear "Sunglasses At Night" live.

As Corey was the opener, I didn't have to wait very long to start having a blast.  He sang all his songs from his debut album "First Offense".  At the end of his performance he threw his sunglasses on and broke into his signature song "Sunglass At Night". 

I jumped on my seat and began dancing.  This was the moment I had been waiting for all night.  Even if the show ended after this, I'd be satisfied.

When I got home I jotted down my memory of the show and wrote how much I loved hearing Corey sing "Sunglasses At Night" live.  I still have my little review about the concert, as well as the ticket stub.  Too bad they don't sell tickets for $12.50 a seat any longer!
