A true crowd pleaserLOCATION: Elgin Theatre , TorontoYEAR: 2005TAGS: Glass Tiger, Alan Frew, music, Canada, Don't Forget MePUBLISHED: February 15, 2008If you had the opportunity to see one of your favorite artists act in a play on stage, would you?  I had such a chance when a friend invited me along to see Alan Frew, lead singer of Glass Tiger, in his acting debut for the play "Snow White and the Group of Seven" in December 2005. Never having seen Alan act before, I didn't know what to expect. Although this was a musical, I kept thinking he would break out into something more him like Glass Tiger's hit "Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone)". Throughout the play he tried his hand at a brief rendition of Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer", as well as many other non-Glass Tiger songs. But they weren't the same. The play came to a close and all the cast members took their bows. Then suddenly the intro to "Don't Forget Me" began and the curtain went up to reveal Alan Frew as he began to sing, "You, you take my breath away...". The crowd roared with applause and sang along, as if this had been the moment they were waiting for all through the play. It was the perfect ending to an entertaining evening.
