Meghan | MEMORY FROM 1994 Breakfast In The HoodLOCATION: Amanda's Kitchen , LivermoreYEAR: 1994TAGS: Breakfast, VolunteersPUBLISHED: April 20, 2008One of my best friends my junior and senior years lived up the street from me. It was about a 2-minute walk from my front door to hers, 1 minute if you ran. For awhile during those years our Sunday morning tradition was making breakfast at her house. Her mom was usually at her boyfriends house, so we always had the place to ourselves. Well the two of us and my friend's boyfriend. As soon as I would wake up I would throw on some sweats and head up the street. We would turn up the stereo and blast Volunteers and dance around the sunlit Kitchen making eggs, pancakes, bacon, and whatever else our little hearts desired. Afterwards we would drink coffee out on her back patio and usually gossip about whatever wild events had taken place the night before. Everytime I hear Volunteers it reminds me of those lazy Sunday mornings spent dancing in that kitchen and drinking coffee in the soft Sunday morning sunlight.
