This song could be my target, if not my result. Everytime I start a new love relationship, I try to belong fully to my man, to be everything and do everything for them. They never seem to want me to, though. Maybe I am overly enthusiastic, definitely I am anti-feminist, perhaps I appear to be old fashioned, but to me, a relationship means that the woman lives for her man. To them, it would seem that I am overly devoted, obsessed, or crazy. I simply view relationships with forever eyes, not just the eyes of today's ways in today's world. In the past, when women belonged to their men, life seemed to work better than these days, where equality and feminism lead to a new form of partnership that makes me shudder.

This song title definitely led me in to take a thorough listen when I first saw it listed on the charts. It is not the sort of song to stand out as a favorite, get played incessantly for several weeks if not months, or even create a Bryan Adams fan out of me, but it does make me want to play it more than once, study the lyrics, and contemplate imaginative possibilities.

I still wish one was allowed to do everything for their man these days.
