dorm roomLOCATION: nyu, third north dorm , new york, nyYEAR: 1999TAGS: dorm, new yorkPUBLISHED: March 4, 2008when i first arrived in new york city for college in 1999 i was living in a rodent infested dorm on third avenue in a suite with five other girls. i loved it! it was like a dream come true for me to have my own place to live (in manhattan!) and a group of girls that i could gossip with and trade clothes with...one of my roommates, nicole, would often listen to this song on her cd player. i love this song and nicole is one of the most smart and savvy new yorkers i've ever known but at the time i remember teasing her about listening to this. at age 18 it was not quite as hip as weezer or whatever else we were listening to. every time i hear it now i think of nicole dancing around that tiny room. and i remember her roommate kate warning us not to mess with her gigantic collection of expensive makeup :) Â
