I mean I do not have a problem acknowledging an excellent piece of art even if it is from way back. Unlike most teenagers, or rather most people of my age since I bed farewell to my teen years ages ago, I am not afraid of being termed ‘old fashioned’. Fine maybe when it comes to clothes I would just die if sported in granny pants but not when it comes to music.
I listen to all genres if all times; hip hop, rap, pop, rave it is just so wonderful. Anyway the other day I found one of my kind- a lover of golden oldies. I listen to songs from way back in the day far back as the sixties. I was jogging down the neighbourhood in the early hours of the morning. I normally do so during my time off work but mostly when I want to get rid of humongous fat accumulated over the months.
By 6.00 p.m. I was in my tackies, tracksuit jogging gasping for some air. I thought no one was watching so I started dancing to ‘Boogie Wonderland’ in the middle of the street as I happened to be walking with my walkman. All of a sudden from out of the blue a fine lad walked by. I love Boogie Wonderland too’ he said. We just clicked and ever since we have been jogging together almost on a daily basis. Thank Goodness, it turns out I am human after all. I concluded that some teenagers do have a flare for old school music. What a relief!!.
