Leaver's Dance!!!!

LOCATION: Hall , Harare

YEAR: 2004

PUBLISHED: March 28, 2008

In October 2004 I graduated from High school. The school always had a nice send off for all the school leavers in the form of a leavers dance. The committee members for that year organised our final dance to be held at a sports club. This was an elite golf zone noted for its tranquil environment.

The dance was to begin at 6.00 p.m. on a Friday night and go on until midnight. Afterwards there was to be an after party though this time organised by the class of 2004.  The day of the prom my friends and I hired a beautician, met at Evelyn’s house- we always raided her place during such events and helped each other get ready for the long awaited dance. Most of my friends were ‘Tom Boys’ but that night we all looked  refined, like typical ladies.

After the final touches, we called a taxi meant to pick us up and drop us off at the club. Although we were not really keen on arriving right on time- the reason being that we wanted to make a grand entrance. While awaiting the taxi, the five of us gathered around Evelyn’s room and talked about the night that lay ahead. We talked about everything from the dinner to our dates. I was to go out with a guy my best friend hooked me up with and my friends started going on about how they were to be pampered that night. It really was our night moreso as we were ladies.
