There was nothing worse than a teacher hated by the pupils she seeked to educate and change for the better. Throughout my years of school, I have had all kinds of teachers; the loud ones, the funny ones, the serious ones, the quiet ones. The worst teacher I encountered had a temper. Fine she could teach Maths, English and all other subjects but she was loathed by the all her pupils.

She taught me in seventh grade, my last year as a junior. When I was in first grade upwards we had it easy. We could her screaming at the pupil’s under her care not knowing that one day we too would be having to report to her. The years went by and before long it was our time to be taught by the most feared teacher. She was mean, she was fat, she was ugly above all she was short-tempered even though we ended up attaining the highest level of passes.

We could never get too comfortable around Mrs.Sibanda, she was too irritable and as they say, ‘Hell hath no fury like a woman scourned’. We tried not to pick on her but Mrs Sibanda did not make it any easier for us. Her bad taste in clothing made her such an easy target. She loved experimenting with her hair and the last attempt proved disastrous. Wigs are not meant for certain individuals, she being one of them. Mrs Sibanda reported to work on Monday morning punctual as spring time.

Let’s not even comment on the faded jeans overly slack. The wig looked like it had been picked from outta space- Mrs. Sibanda needed to know of an essential wig product- hair spray. The hair needed help. There was a newcomer who had joined us that day. Julie was not fully aware of Mrs.Sibanda’s temperament and she burst into laughter. It was so obvious she been laughing at her hair. The rest of us quickly sympathised with her and  we knew it was time to silently sing, ‘God Will Make A Way', a song she was quick to master.
