My recent boyfriend and I  had never been really compatible from day one. Unfortunately, it took us close to a year to accept this painful though relevant fact. We fought about basically everything.

Sometimes we would find ourselves fighting over the most appropriate places to dine and in more severe cases we argued over suspects of infidelity. Like all ‘normal’ couples we always found a way to kiss and make up whether it be through the form of a poem or surprise bouquet of roses.

Shortly before my 19th birthday we had a big argument. It was one of our major fights- we fought like cats and dogs, verbally of course. I am not sure  what triggered it exactly but I will never forget my final words before I hung up the phone. I talled him in a high-pitched voice, louder than the sound of lighting to ‘go to hell and stay there’.

After I put the phone down I grabbed my Anastasia collection. I was going to dance all my anger and resentment towards him away. On listening to the song ‘I’m Outta Love’ I realized how symbolic the song was. I really felt like my love for him had ceased and I just wanted to be set free from all the misery love brings. I noticed the irony in the words and laughed my head off. In the end I was too wound up to be angry. This song really reminds me of my ex, our good and bad times.
