Could This Be The End?

 During my O-Level year, I went out with a guy two years older than me. He was in his final year at school. We had a lot in common, movie tastes in particular. We were both into Comedies. ‘Head of State’ directed by Chris Rock was our most favourite. Sunday was a day we set aside for movies during the school term and as for the holiday, well every day was a Movie day. That explained why he was so good at acting. Movies aside, Timothy had been in the drama club since first grade. He had received numerous awards, held leadership positions and travelled all because of drama. But his talent was about to reach its climax. After his final year he was awarded a drama scholarship to study all the way in America- Pennsylvannia state.

I was more than happy for him but I was also saddened at the thought of not having him around. I was so used to seeing him and talking to him everyday. Now how was I to go for days not knowing when I will see him next?. Worse still, I could feel him drifting further apart. Sometimes I found his phone on voicemail and he would take long to respond to my messages. In addition, planned outings were cancelled suddenly.

Perhaps I was just being paranoid but I started speculating what all this meant. I was no longer sure whether our relationship was going where it should. One day I got so depressed I sent him a text with the lyrics to the song 'When will I see you again?'. The next day my fears were dispelled as we went for coffee. He explained that there were so many things he needed to organize prior to his departure. And what do you know. To this day I still remain the queen of his heart!.
