Caught Red Handed!

It is a small world indeed but sometimes it keeps getting smaller. I had been with this guy for close to a  month. He could not hold his cheating horses in such a short interval of time, however. Barely before the end of our first week together he was already cheating. Worst of all it just had to be with one of my acquaintances.

I had always gone on about Linda- a slim blonde I did swimming with over the weekend. I did not know that most people were familiar with the name Belinda and that is  how Mark came to know her as. He knew that most of my Saturday mornings were spent at Les Brown swimming pool. Mark resolved to hook up with another chick before allegedly coming to watch me swim. He was crazy about swimmers for reasons best known to him.

Linda came late for swimming and Mark thought as long as the girl he hit on was not Linda then he was safe. The two met by the gate which was quite distant from the pool. She obviously introduced herself as Belinda and outside swimming Belinda wore spectacles which made him dead sure he had fallen for someone I didn’t know. I on the other hand, hadn’t been feeling well so I felt it best to go home when my headache become unbearable.

I hadn’t been swimming that day but I sat on one of the benches as a spectator. On my way out I bumped into the two of them, holding hands, Linda with a bouquet of flowers. He was too ashamed to look me in the eye afterwards. In fact they both were. I was infuriated but at least I knew not to waste my time with such a Casanova. I went home thinking ‘how could an angel break my heart?’.
