Busted!!!

I had been dying to get my driver’s licence the day I turned sixteen. In fact, that was my major goal for my sweet sixteen year. The prospects of driving to school were highly appealing especially in a jeep. I was crazy about the car back then and there was one already parked at home.

Unfortunately, I had not obtained my licence by the time my Ordinart-level results were released so driving was shifted off for another year or two. Finally after my A-Level year I got my licence. It was a long wait which proved worth it.

Being a novice is not one of my best traits. I hate being new at anything as I always feel so self conscious whilst trying to find my feet. After I got my licence there were so many things I needed to adjust to like driving at night, driving in rainy weather and driving during peak hours. When my parents had more faith in my driving I was allowed to drive while listening to music.

This did not go down well the first few trips. I was on my way home from work while listening to ‘I can Feel the beat’. I slowly began to move my body in response to the music. For a split second I removed my hands off the steering wheel. This happened to be the time the robot turned amber. I went through a late amber and the police officer behind me sounded his siren.

In no time I was given a ticket. All this happened in the twinkling of an eye. I opened the dashboard, took out my purse counted what was left of my money and paid the fine. That was settled finally and never to be repeated again!!.
