Jaded AttitudeLOCATION: My Car, Manhattan, KSYEAR: 1995TAGS: anger, men, workPUBLISHED: February 14, 2008I was going through a rough period of time in my life. I had lost a fiance and a job. Never experiencing anything that remotely resembled failure, I was very angry that things were not working out for me. My anger level was so high that I thought I would explode. The new type of female singer who let it all hang out was a wonderful for me to express my feelings. As I started working on getting my life straightened out, I found Alanis Morrisette’s songs perfect for moving on with things. The best thing I could do to clear my head was to turn on her music at full blast and drive out on the highway where I spent time with myself. Many days I would hop in the car crying, drive for awhile, listen to the album and then come out with renewed determination to move on with life. Ironic was the song that most reminded me of my life. One moment I was secure in the knowledge that my perfect dream was about ready to become reality. The next moment everything went downhill abruptly. My whole life was an irony at that point. I had done everything I was supposed to do, yet nothing was working out.
