Cruising on the BikesLOCATION: The Road , United StatesYEAR: 1999TAGS: motorcycle, highways, cruising, freedomPUBLISHED: February 14, 2008My husband has always ridden motorcycles. He loves the freedom of being on the road. When I started dating him, I quickly was bitten by the motorcycling bug. There is nothing better than climbing on the bike and cruising around some great curves. We always talked about just climbing on the bike and seeing the United States then the world. Over a decade later, we haven't made it to see the world. We have cruised around much of the United States on our bikes. Stopping at odd little taverns and out of the way gas stations; we have met people that we consider friends, yet will probably never see again. Riding to me is just like that, no roots and an open heart. The song Roll Me Away is bittersweet to me. I would love to be able to just take off with no regrets, but like the woman in the song I would start to miss my family. Each time I hear the song, I am ready to hop on my motorcycle and ride. I know will have to come home again, though. Maybe someday, you will see me in my travels. Â
