My sister and I and our friend Renee were absolutly ridiculous when we got together. Growing up in a town with nothing to do we often made our own fun by cracking eachother up. Being as cutting edge as we were (insert sarcasm) we had just gotten the new Shania Twain cd and had the great idea to dress up like her and perform the classic, "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?"
We raided the closet looking for anything 'country' that we could wear. We found scrunchies for our hair and proceeded to rock the side ponytail. We found two skirts and a two plaid shirts so being the youngest, I was out of luck. I found a pair of black, faded jean shorts that were about 4 sizes to small, but with the help of my friends and a wire coat hanger I was able to get them zipped up. I found some hidious boots, a ribbed shirt and looked like something the 80's had thrown up. The girls thought it was perfect and we moved the rec room around to look like a make-shift stage. I was on drums...or laundry baskets and paint brushes. My sister played guitar and Renee was our lead singer.
We called ourselves the 3 Shania's. It was pretty sad and yet we laughed so hard our ribs hurt. I'm really glad we were too poor to have a video camera and that no one had film that night cause those photos could be used for some serious blackmail!
Being 12 I probably had no idea what the song even meaned...I probably thought Shania was inquiring about lending out footwear.
Good times.
