Unique MeetingsLOCATION: Outside the Bay downtown , CalgaryYEAR: 1989TAGS: Concert, tickets, line up, friends, loyaltyPUBLISHED: March 6, 2008It was late one Friday night in March and I was lazing around my room. I was going to college, working nights and boarding with my parents. Life was sort of boring at times. I heard on the radio that Poison tickets were to go on sale the next day and I made an impetuous decision. I was going to go line up early in the morning and get tickets for this concert.  So the next day I caught the earliest bus I could and went downtown to the walkway system outside the second floor of the Bay. I rounded the corner and became to get excited. It looked like I was the first one there. But, alas, my excitement dimmed a bit when I saw the blond hair of another young woman.  ‘Hi, I’m J.’ the blond was very bubbly and friendly. We had a few hours to wait until the doors opened so we struck up a conversation. As other people came to line up we included most of them and it was a good time.  The doors opened and we raced to get to the third floor to line up again for tickets. Once there J. went first and I bought mine after her. I got better seats than she did! Not that it mattered at the concert because once the rush started we both ended up in the same place.  That was the start of a friendship that lasted many years. We lost touch for a while when I moved back to BC but reconnected again. Now we aren’t really in contact because our lives have progressed along different paths. But I will always remember the good times we had and our unique meeting. Â
