My Journey Through TimeLOCATION: Prom , Coral SpringsYEAR: 2004TAGS: prom, 1980s, journeyPUBLISHED: April 9, 2008Well, it's funny looking back because I actually did not go to my senior prom. But if I had, I imagined it to be more like a 1980s type of Molly Ringwald occasion. I used to hear my older sister's stories from high school and since she actually did attend her prom, I wondered if she felt like it was worth the effort. By the time I was a high school senior, pop music and rap bled off the pages of every magazine, clouded TV sets and played on literally every single radio station usually at the same time. I suppose journey was the equivalent for its time, but I feel that it is timeless even when I'm 80, I won't mind listening to journey, at least I hope. I cannot say the same for Britney Spears. Thinking about how certain songs create a scene in my mind makes me remember this song and wonder again why trends fade......aside from the big hair and colorful tshirt cutoffs and faded jeans.....that I understand. I may have been born in the 80s but growing up with my sister, I felt like a little piece of me was also a teenager in the 80s. Sometimes I want to go back in time and relive my childhood again because some journeys are just too good not to live again.
