When I was in school I wasn't really part of the "in crowd." I had no reason to go to the dances. I just was not interested in them, until my senior year. I had this very good friend that was so great to me. He would take me out all the time, to the movies, to dinner, everywhere.

It was my senior year, he had graduated the year before, and the prom was just around the corner. I still was not really excited about the prom. I didn't think I was going to go. No one was going to ask me to the prom. I was the girl that everyone was friends with but no one dated.

I had a class with his sister and one day out of no where she asked me if I was going to the prom with her brother. This shocked me. I never even thought about going with him. Why would he want to go to my senior prom? That night I called him and we starting talking about the prom. The next thing I know I was going to the prom. I did not even know where to start. I was excited but nervous also.

The big night comes and here he is in a suit to pick me up. It was like a dream. My family took pictures and was so happy. We rode with his sister and her date in their car to dinner. I was so excited that I couldn't eat. We had dinner at the top of the mountain. It was perfect.

Then it was off to the dance. I was not sure if I should dance or just sit there. I had no idea what I was doing. When he asked me to dance I just looked at him. " It is what we came here for," he said. I snapped out of my own little world and decided to give it a chance. We danced the rest of the night. This was the song playing for the last dance.

He had given me the best prom night anyone could have asked for. He was sweet and attentive to my every need. I had so much fun. I will never forget that night, and every time I hear this song it brings me back to that night on the crowded dance floor.
