"That's a word, now?"LOCATION: School , Palm BayYEAR: 2008TAGS: freezing, fergiliciousPUBLISHED: June 21, 2009Imagine this: It's fifty-seven degrees in Florida. No one is prepared for this kind of weather, but our teacher decides that a hike is in order. Walking from room to pavilion is hell, you and a friend are the ass of the line, and are constantly being urged to hurry up. You and your friend have no intention to do so, as both of you are dressed terribly out of season, and while you're dying of hypothermia your friend (from New Jersy) refuses to admit that she's cold. "I heard that bagillion is a word now." You say conversationally, willing to say anything to take your mind off of your own misery. You, of course, were born and raised in Florida-- you've never seen snow, and until you were eight you always thought that snow was fiction; as in, it wasn't real. "Who'd you hear that from?" Your friend asks skeptically, she obviously doesn't believe you. That's okay, you know you're facts and you're going to win this argument. "My friend looked it up in a dictionary." You reply, ready to put up your mental fists. "Oh." She tells you, accepting your answer. What? You think, completely let down. You shiver, and you think you might be dying. "Did you hear that ginormous is a word now?" You ask, hoping for some kind of, any kind of, distraction from the weather and the long walk cross-campus. "It is?" She asks, not even bothering to agree. What the fuck? You think, as your friend is usually very argumentative. "Yup." Another long, agonizing minute passes in utter silence as you guys drop your pace further, falling farther behind the entourage. "Did you hear that Fergalicious is a word now?" Your friend asks, but by now your brain must've frozen over because you say: "Oh."
