Daughters Part 2LOCATION: Home , SacramentoYEAR: 1977TAGS: daughtersPUBLISHED: June 6, 2008My daughters were born into a family of very strong independant women. Loving and caring yet with a don't mess with me attitude. I could tell with my oldest daughters first independent breath, she would fit right in. When I first gazed into those lovely green eyes, I knew her, in that "there you are" type way. And she looked just like her Dad. But her fiesty curious "put me down so I can go" attitude was McGuire through and through. And I'm talking about from day 1. As a baby she was never a cuddler, though I always tried. She always prefered pushing away and checking out her surroundings. Always looking for what was next. Yep, she's a McGuire alright. Her common sense and wisdom always in her preteen and teenage years seemed to be beyond her years. An old soul in a young body. Her instincts were usually good, though being a teenager she didn't always follow them. The thing that amazed me the most however, was, she would listen to me and my instincts. Later she would tell me, she just trusted my instincts, and mine were usually the same as hers, so how could she not. Wow. As she's grown, she's always been true to herself. At times when I've gotten off track she's helped me to find that track and get back on it. She chose a good man, that is perfect for her. They compliment each other, as it should be. She is a source of strength to her family. The voice of reason when often the storm of emotion is too much for the rest of us. I strive to be the kind of woman she can be proud of, someone she can lean on, though, it's usually the other way around. She feels very strongly about what she believes in, yet is always ready to hear other opinions and do research if she has questions. She loves everything Irish and is always reading amd broadening her horizans. She's inspiring to say the least. She's my daughter, but better still, she's my friend and I count myself beyond lucky for this gem in my life. I'm proud of the wonderful Mother, loving wife and unconditional friend she has become. Magic fills her life and she never takes it for granted. Strenth and love runs through her soul. She is Ruth's granddaughter, the spitting image of her father and when the day is done, her Mom is still her biggest fan. She's a McGuire girl, beyond a shadow of a doubt.
