Music was always a big deal in the house.  Dad played guitar.  I mutated apparently and got no musical aptitude.  But Dad loved the Beatles.  I loved the Beatles.  At 3.  At 6. Even today.  Paul.  John. George. Ringo.  And Sgt. Pepper's was the album that a 6 year old could love.  Love looking at the album cover.  Love listening to the music.  Love singing along.

Today I hear Sgt Pepper's and the muted oranges, yellows, and browns of the 1970's come back.  My memory is an oversaturated snapshot from a Pentax Spotmatic.   I have a bowl haircut.  And a hideously striped shirt.  And tuffskins pants.   I'm happy.  There's wood paneling.  Ringo is singing an upbeat tune about his friends.  It's warm.  It's safe.  I get by.
