The album - a soundtrack from the movie - played for many nights over several years in my parents house in Valencia. We loved the collection of heartfelt songs which, after seeing the movie and learning the stories behind the singers, became even richer to us. On beautiful warm tropical nights we would light candles, play this album over and over again and dance with each other until the wee hours of the morning. My Dad would smoke cigars and we'd drink ice cold beers and snack by the pool. We would talk and laugh until our sides hurt. It was our own special little world, private to us and our friends. These memories will last a lifetime. And they're what families should be about. The Buena Vista Social Club definitely offered us songs of joy and celebration in our cozy, happy world.
