Back in the days when MTV would still show MUSIC VIDEOS, on the days when shows like 'My So-Called Life' and the good years of 'ER' were on, during my last years of high school, I heard during a commercial break a beautiful voice while getting ready to go to bed. I ran to the TV to see who was singing and found Jeff Buckley. It was the start of a whole other level of my appreciation for music. There he was, playing guitar and wearing teared jeans, a white t-shirt, and a flannel long sleeve shirt (dressed a lot like me back then). For less than a minute I heard the lyrics "...Kiss me, please Kiss me, but kiss me out of desire babe, and not consolation" ... I had to stop brushing my teeth for a minuteand wanted so bad to have a VHS tape in my VCR so I could tape that commercial because I wanted to remember the next day about this moment and when I could buy the album. I was in love. I finally found the song Last Goodbye, heard it about a million times along with the most wonderful CD I had heard in YEARS. Jeff Buckley was one of a kind. Coming from great genes of course, but his voice... my god his voice....angelical, heartwarming, mesmerizing, ...I could go on forever. Last Goodbye is only one of the songs in the GRACE album that requires yourundevided attention while listening to it. It's on my top 5 best songs EVER. And itwas a tragic day when I found out that Jeff was no longer with us. But his music will live on forever in my heart.
