Meeting my fatherLOCATION: Home , Portland, ORYEAR: 2001TAGS: father, drugs, memory, Drive, IncubusPUBLISHED: July 1, 2009On June 4th of 2001 I had no idea my life would change so drastically in as little as 24 hours, but fortunately, it did. As a child I was raised by my mother as one of four boys and I never really knew my father, he had mysteriously left when I was very young and I had barely any memories of him. But on the fourth of June that year he just showed up at my house and asked to come in. It turns out that he had a really bad drug problem that he didn't want his family involved in but that he was clean for a year and wanted to work his way slowly back into our lives. He said that everytime he heard the song "Drive" by Incubus it reminded him of me, and his family in general. It pushed him to try hard to stay off drugs and made him a better person. So thanks to this song I'm now 18 and living hapilly with my mother and father in a happy family.
