The Pavillion SecretsLOCATION: Blossom Music Center , Boston Twp, OhioYEAR: 1981TAGS: secrets, giggles, flask, private jokePUBLISHED: April 14, 2008Mom did not like this group much and S.C and I were not driving long distances by ourselves yet so mom served as taxi and kind-of a chaperone. Blossom Music Center is an open music auditorium out in Summit County on roughly 200 acres of land. The crowd was medium-sized because perhaps not many people liked the GoGos either and surely only a few thousand appreciated the opening band, Flock of Seagulls; however, it was the ladies' first album and it hit big. This was their debut tour and it almost sold out. My girlfriend and I were excited because the pavillion seats were not too much more expensive than lawn seats and it had rained the whole weekend so a chair under the roof of this place was much more conducive to the tushies. I had been in the pavillion before for other concerts, mostly classical but this time it was a 'rock' concert and it was fun. Although the sound system was supposed to be the best, tonight's concert seemed especially loud and crackly except for this song. The girls came out on water skis, cucumber-green mudmasks and house slippers ! As we listened and jammed, a flask is passed to us from behind. It had some yummy tasting punch-kind of liquid in it and our entire row was encouraging all of us to drink up and be merry ! It was the first time I had ever had real rum and punch . . . the secret stayed with S.C and I as we meandered our way back to mom after the concert let out. She must not have noticed our glassy eyes and extreme fits of giggles had anything to do with anything because she gave us no money before we went to our seats. The secret stayed in the pavillion and "Our Lips are Sealed" was a private joke between us young girls when we returned to classes the next day. We did not get drunk just pleasantly accepting the rest of their album and antics the GoGo's performed on stage. What a show, what a night and what a memory ! Nowadays you can't even bring in bottled water because Blossom wants its visitors to buy everything on site and that is very expensive, but it still caters to the thousands of concert-goers who appreciate a great time.
